What do you say when the conversation turns very personal, and you no longer have that kind of relationship? What if there is a great deal of history, and the conversation seems comfortable? What do you do if you start to think maybe you should consider your options?
I am always very sure of myself until I am not. I know this sounds confusing, but that it the whole point. I think I know what I want and where I am going until it is all called into question. It is all a part of a friendly conversation. "I think it is so great that you are so happy. What? You have not seen a movie!? You LOVE going to the movies. **** needs to pony up." I say that we had planned to go once, but I said I would rather "cuddle." and then the "Ahhhhh" comes. What does that mean? Is that, "Ahhhh, well, I am sure you will get to go one day; Ahhhh, it isn't that important, and there have been no good movies; Ahhhh, that's what you get for having that kind of a relationship; Ahhhh, you could be with someone more available."
What is that song, "if you can't be with the one you love, then love the one you're with." Is that it? You have to settle for a relationship that has worked and might be workable again if you are willing to make some changes in yourself(to be something you're not), take all the continued criticism and so on? I just can't seem to buy into it. Yet, there is something reassuring about knowing you have someone to come home to, and someone you can count on in some respects.
