A friend suggested that I sign up for e-Harmony. This friend is the same one who kept setting me up with the guys from her church. I know she meant well, but all those "perfectly matched" promises are just a bunch of mumbo jumbo!
Did I meet guys in my preferred age range, required height and so forth? Yes. Did they walk, talk and act like I specified? Yes. And that was the problem. It is like each guy read some kind of bio and researched just enough to have a conversation.
I said, "do you prefer road or mountain cycling?" I usually choose to ride on the road as it is less bumpy. He was serious.
"What was the last book you read?" See I Told You So by Rush Limbaugh. Sigh.
"What do you think about Obama's Compulsory Service idea?" Sure, take away more of people's rights! Liberals! I excused myself to the lady's room to compose myself.
There is nothing wrong with this guy or any of the others except they are trying to be who they think I am looking for instead of who they are. People should not try to make themselves who they think another wants, but rather just find the person who already has it all to begin with.
I blocked my profile and suspended my membership. I am going back to working out, baseball, my students and maybe a new dog. They are easier to train and less complicated. (Dogs, that is :)
