What a crazy day. Yesterday, meetings all day. Today, meetings all day. In fact, the longest meeting-of-information-I-already-knew took place today. I went to the meeting because I thought it was going to be a hands-on training for the course management system designed for the University of Hawaii system. It turned out to be 3 1/2 hours on how to teach online for beginners. The woman giving the "lecture" was very knowledgeable, and I did walk away with a couple of nuggets, but I also asked at the beginning of the class if there would be much hands-on and if I should stay. She said I would get an overview. I did, quickly, in the last 30 minutes. Sigh. I still love this place though, and I am so excited about meeting my students. I have decided that on top of my teaching load, I will also take, Hula, history of surfing and Hawaiian Studies. It all sounds so amazing.
