I cannot see how Rick Santorum is still in the race.

All candidates tend to insert foot into mouth at some point on the campaign trail. There is some recon and clean-up from the fallout of said statements, and then the campaign moves on, the mistake now at the bottom of a bird cage.


However, what do you do, if you are Rick Santorum's campaign manager? Every time Santorum opens his mouth he spews yet another outrageous humdinger of a "when I am president" statement. Does he listen to himself when he speaks?


My friend, Jeff, as you might remember, wants to dart those people (remove the ability to reproduce) whose actions already go against the uplifting of humankind. I know it sounds extreme; it is a constant debate between him and me, but I am starting to see the justification. Ideologies, traditions, customs are all handed down. It is a cyclic process; from father to son to son to son and so on. Unless the cycle is broken, someone is enlightened or better educated, then the same misinformation will be re-learned and passed on. If there are no more heirs to this ridiculous line of thinking, then there is noone to pass it on to. A huge leap, something for a science fiction novel, I know, but do we, human beings, really learn much from history? How many mistakes are repeated over and over again simply because nothing new is learned, because the same information is passed on, because there is no new meaning made? How can we change things, make a difference, enlighten our race? Be active participants in our own lives or load up the dart guns.
