He has risen indeed.

I wasn't planning on posting any longer to the blog, but today, I feel like I need to thank Jesus for his sacrifice and gift. I went to the early service at my church, a tribute really to my grandfather's family. I was raised in the church by my grandfather's family on my mother's side, of German descent, and my grandfather's family on my father's side, of Spanish descent. My grandad was Lutheran and Papa, Roman Catholic. They are very similar services, aside from some kneeling and the Catholic mass being in Latin.

My friend couldn't wait to tell me that her 13-year-old son wanted a duck as a pet. The service was very nice, complete with a puppet show and baptism. What really touched me was that small child, free from sin and worry, being given the protection of God. It really puts things in perspective.

I found this church my third week here, and I truly enjoy the people and Rev. Kathryn. She looked into my eyes today, asked how things were. I told her we would talk more later as I had to rush to get to another service with my friend Jill. I have been rushing away after the early service a good deal lately because one friend or another wants me to come to their church and meet "a nice man." I am exhausted.

I feel more and more blessed by what God has given me since coming to Texas. As you know, there have and still are some trials I am facing. When I triumph over one, another surfaces. I go to church every week to renew my promise to God to do his work, to ask for his forgiveness for my sins and mistakes, to be closer to those who pray for me daily.

It seems that you can't keep a truly good woman down for long. He has risen indeed.
